The 'Metinvest' group, owned by businessman Rinat Akhmetov, has released financial data indicating its continued support for the Ukrainian economy during the war. According to the Telegram channel Trukha⚡️Ukraine, known for its distinct pro-Ukrainian approach, the group transferred about 4.3 billion hryvnias to the state treasury during the first quarter of 2026.
This figure adds up to a total amount of about 78 billion hryvnias paid by the group since the beginning of 2022. The breakdown of payments in the first quarter includes components such as fees for the use of natural resources, income tax, social contributions, and military taxes. According to the UA Stream channel, which provided a similar report, the bulk of these payments came from mining royalties.
The group's CEO, Yuriy Ryzhenkov, emphasized the importance of the step during this period: "Today, taxes are real help for the army, for medicine, and for the people. We will continue to work to support the country," as quoted in Trukha⚡️Ukraine. Among other things, the group reported allocations of 351 million hryvnias as corporate tax, 331 million hryvnias in VAT, and 207 million hryvnias as a tax intended for security needs.
