Former US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg argues that Russia is failing to achieve its military objectives and is expected to lose the war against a backdrop of heavy casualties and economic difficulties.
Keith Kellogg's situation assessment: "Russia is losing the war"
Former US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, General Keith Kellogg, presented a sharp assessment regarding Russia's situation in the war. In a report by the Censor.net channel, known for its pro-Ukraine stance, Kellogg emphasized that Russia is failing to advance toward its strategic goals. According to him, "If Russia were really winning, it would already be in Kyiv and Kharkiv," and in reality, the Russian army is far from capturing these territories.
Kellogg addressed the heavy scale of casualties among Russian forces, which he estimates to be between 1.2 and 1.4 million killed and wounded. For comparison, the General noted that the Soviet Union withdrew from Afghanistan after the loss of only 18,000 soldiers, which indicates a real "economic problem" that is expected to deepen in Moscow. Additional channels that covered his remarks, such as UA Stream and Novyny: Ukraina, emphasized that Kellogg's message to Russia is unequivocal: "You are not winning this war, you are losing."
Alongside the military analysis, Kellogg emphasized that Ukraine has lost only about 1% of the territories that were under its control since 2014, a fact that testifies to its resilience in the face of aggression. Kellogg called on Moscow to end attempts to continue the occupation and to turn to the negotiating table. Channels identified with Ukrainian media, including all mentioned Telegram channels, presented these remarks as further evidence of Putin's strategic failure on the front.
