A report published by 24 Канал | Новини України, a channel characterized by a distinct pro-Ukrainian stance, points to alarming gaps in the minimum wage between Ukraine and the rest of Europe. According to the data, the minimum wage in Ukraine currently stands at only about 164 euros, placing it as having the lowest figure on the continent.
For comparison, the channel highlights that "a person in Luxembourg receives 16 times more per month" than in Ukraine, where the minimum wage there reaches 2,704 euros. Significant gaps were also recorded in other countries, such as Germany (2,161 euros), France (1,802 euros), and even neighboring Moldova, where the wage stands at about 279 euros, according to the report on 24 Канал.
At the same time, the UA Stream channel points out that the economic reality is leading to changes in the regional labor market, as many Ukrainians are examining opportunities across the border. The channel emphasizes that "the wage gap is widening," and that there is growing interest among Ukrainian citizens in what is happening in the Polish labor market, which offers more attractive economic conditions compared to home.
