[46928] Clashes in Binyamin: Jewish rioters set fire to infrastructure in the village of Jalud
Unusual incident in Binyamin: Jewish rioters set fire to power lines in the village of Jalud
This morning (May 2, 2026), a violent incident occurred in the Palestinian village of Jalud in Binyamin, when a group of about 15 Jewish rioters, some masked, raided the place. According to reports, the rioters set fire to the village's power lines and threw stones at residents' homes.
IDF and Border Police forces that were rushed to the scene encountered deliberate sabotage on their way: a patrol vehicle of the force ran over spikes placed on the road, allegedly by the rioters, in an attempt to delay the arrival of security forces to the scene.
Dispute regarding the results of the police activity
There is a gap in reports between sources regarding the operational results on the ground:
- Political-Security Cabinet - Moriah Asraf & Doron Kadosh (considered a source close to the security establishment) report that the forces used riot dispersal equipment, managed to distance the rioters, and that they "arrested 4 of them."
- On the other hand, Ben Caspit - Official Channel (which takes a critical line toward the government and the security establishment) notes, while relying on Doron Kadosh, that despite the use of riot dispersal equipment, "none of them were arrested, and they all escaped."
The event highlights the growing tension in Judea and Samaria and the difficulty of security forces to deal with acts of sabotage by Jewish rioters within Palestinian villages.
