[46939] New directive in Iran: Mandatory use of personal fueling cards
The Iranian government tightens control over fuel consumption
The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company has issued a sweeping directive to all drivers in the country, calling on them to use personal fueling cards exclusively. According to reports in "Akharin Khabar" News Agency, the move is intended to "facilitate service provision, prevent queues, and save time."
The company emphasized that "the fueling cards available at gas stations are intended solely for emergency situations," a statement that has been widely echoed by channels affiliated with the establishment and the government, including the Hamian-e-Pezeshkian channel and the official news agency IRNA.
At the same time, the authorities announced a supplementary step for owners of imported vehicles. As published in Khorasan Online, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company confirmed that it is now "possible to issue a personal smart fueling card" for these vehicles, under what is known as the "third tariff."
The message was also distributed with great intensity in channels dealing with foreign news and security, such as Khabar Foori, which emphasize the importance of drivers preparing for the new guidelines. It appears to be a broad government move attempting to regulate fuel consumption and reduce reliance on public cards at stations.
