This morning, May 2, 2026, the channel 🔊⚠️єРадар | Повітряна тривога | Ракетна небезпека, specializing in air raid alerts, reported a significant wave of 'Shahed' drones infiltrating Ukrainian airspace. According to the channel's update, dozens of vehicles were detected in the skies over the Sumy (9 groups), Chernihiv (5 groups), Kyiv, and Poltava regions.

Following eRadar's reports, additional groups of drones were identified moving within the airspace of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The Telegram channel Київ Головне, which reports on events in the capital and its surroundings, noted that approximately 10 drones were making their way from the Chernihiv region towards the Kyiv region, warning of the expansion of alert zones.

Parallel to the drone attack, Київ Головне relayed tense reports regarding aerial activity in the northern border area. The channel stated that two Belarusian helicopters were detected flying at a distance of about 2-3 km from the border with the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. However, the channel later updated that the helicopters were no longer identified and that it was an initial assessment of the situation.

Local intelligence sources and monitoring groups emphasize that the situation remains fluid, as the drones described as "drinchalki" (a derogatory term for noisy vehicles) continue to "drone on" between the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, making accurate prediction of attack routes difficult.
