Trump added that if the United States were to withdraw from the arena now, it would take the Iranians about 20 years to recover, but in his view, this is an insufficient solution. According to him, "We need a guarantee that they will not have nuclear weapons."

The remarks received further resonance through the channel of journalist Daphna Liel, who reported that the President reiterated his position to reporters and noted that the proposals placed on the table by the Iranians are not acceptable to him at this stage.
