Starting April 30, 2026, the McDonald's chain in Ukraine began marketing limited-edition 'Happy Meal' boxes, which include characters from the popular Netflix series, 'Stranger Things'. According to the report by Труха⚡️Київ, the boxes include figures of the series' protagonists: Dustin, Eleven, Mike, Max, Lucas, or Will.
Reports on social media about the doll launch were widespread. Україна Online reported that the collection has already reached many branches and long lines are expected. However, criticisms were also heard from users; for example, on the Труха⚡️Дніпро channel, it was noted that some bloggers claim the dolls look "наче з Аліекспрес" (as if they came from AliExpress), which raises questions regarding the product's quality.
Beyond the current launch, channels such as Інформаційний фронт and Україна Online hinted that McDonald's is preparing further marketing moves ahead of the 2026 World Cup summer events. Times of Ukraine added that similar to the fast-food chain's tradition, some of the characters require solving puzzles to obtain them.
