[109156] False alarms on the northern border: Sirens in Avivim and Yiron
False alarms on the northern border
During the evening of July 2, 2026, "Red Alert" sirens were activated in northern border communities, specifically in the areas of Avivim and Yiron. The Telegram channel Abu Ali Express (known for a critical line toward Iran and its proxies and support for Netanyahu's security policy) reported the event in real-time to two different audiences, noting the fact that sirens were activated in the Yiron area.
Shortly thereafter, the IDF Spokesperson clarified that it was a case of mistaken identification. The official update was also published by the Hot News channel, which confirmed that after an on-site check, the sirens activated in the Avivim and Yiron area were a "false identification" according to the IDF Spokesperson's announcement.
There were no reports of casualties or damage as a result of the incident, and calm returned to the area immediately upon the military's clarification.
