Over the past 24 hours, the "Yuvileiny" (Ювілейний) meat plant in the city of Zaporizhzhia was attacked by Russian forces using two drones. As reported by Оперативний ЗСУ, the strike led to the immediate shutdown of the plant's operations due to heavy damage to production facilities, warehouses, and infrastructure.
According to a report by Новини.LIVE, the plant was empty of employees at the time of the attack, as the day shift had ended and the night shift had not yet begun, which prevented casualties. Fire and rescue services (DSNS) operated at the scene to gain control over the fire that broke out as a result of the strike. UA Stream notes that the fire raged at the scene for almost the entire night.
In many Ukrainian media outlets, including Times of Ukraine and Реальна Війна, there is concern that the significant damage to the plant will lead to a long-term shortage of the popular sausage products manufactured there. Additional sources, among them Ху Київ + and БДСН, emphasize that the strike was intentional and caused extensive destruction that complicates the continuation of routine work.
The incident is causing concern among consumers in the area due to the complete cessation of production, with plant management confirming that at this stage they are focusing on clearing rubble and analyzing the extent of the damage. As of now, there is no clear forecast regarding the date for the resumption of operations at one of the best-known plants in the meat sector in the Zaporizhzhia region.
