According to a report by Dafna Liel, the coalition is expected to pass a law to dissolve the Knesset by July 17, 2026. The report, which presents a line indicating cautious optimism regarding the conduct of Netanyahu and his associates, explains that the move is intended to prevent a scenario in which Knesset members switch sides and join a "constructive no-confidence" move close to the election date.

According to Dafna Liel, "In Netanyahu's circle, they fear that if an election period is not declared, MKs who switch sides will join the opposition and a constructive no-confidence vote will be carried out close to the elections." Liel notes that from a technical standpoint, "there is no difference between an election period and a regular period, except that it is not customary."
