Tonight (July 2, 2026), Kyiv sustained one of the most massive and combined missile and drone attacks since the beginning of the war. According to reports from Реальний Київ and ТСН новини, rescue forces are operating in numerous locations across the city following direct hits and falling debris that caused widespread destruction to residential buildings, hotels, and civilian infrastructure.

The data on the number of casualties is being updated constantly. The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, updated on Укрінформ that the death toll has risen to 13 people, while the number of wounded has reached 86, including children. At the same time, Цензор.НЕТ (which takes a distinctly pro-Ukrainian line) reports "significant direct hits to residential buildings, from which rescue forces are also extracting bodies of the deceased."

According to estimates by the authorities, including the Kyiv City Military Administration (КМВА) as reported on Київ Головне, the attack hit more than 30 locations in all districts of the capital. The neighborhoods that suffered the heaviest damage include Darnytskyi, where citizens were trapped under the rubble of residential buildings, as well as the Shevchenkivskyi, Pecherskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and other districts. РБК-Україна added that hits were also documented in the suburbs of Kyiv, including in the Bucha, Obukhiv, and Fastiv districts.
