Following a Ukrainian UAV attack that occurred on June 18, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially reported that the Moscow oil refinery (in the Kapotnya district) has suspended its operations. According to reports, the primary oil processing unit ABT-6, a combined processing unit, and four fuel storage tanks were attacked, with two of the tanks completely destroyed.

Satellite imagery published by several channels, including Оперативний ЗСУ, shows the extent of the destruction, including a tank that lost its roof following an explosion. Цензор.НЕТ noted that an analysis of the images reveals extensive signs of fire on the factory grounds and even in the area of the nearby "Sadovod" shopping center. КіберБорошно estimated that repairs to the facilities could take between a week and a month, noting that "the actual damage is greater than what can be seen from the satellite," as some of the UAVs were detonated in the air to create a fire effect.

In a series of satirical posts, 24 Канал emphasized that despite the refinery being protected by "Pantsir" anti-aircraft systems stationed on towers near the plant, the defense failed. Some sources even speculated that part of the damage to the tanks might have been caused by a stray Russian anti-aircraft missile hit.

At the same time, it was reported by Ми Україна on another drone attack at a refinery in Tyumen, located about 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Local authorities in Tyumen claimed it was "falling debris" following an interception, while Ukrainian monitoring channels estimate it was a direct hit on another strategic Russian facility.
