[90813] Series of police operations against drug networks and cyber fraud across Ukraine
Operation 'Rubicon': A heavy blow to the drug industry
Ukraine's National Police forces have completed the second phase of Operation 'Rubicon', a large-scale raid against drug trafficking networks. According to reports from Лачен пише, the operation involved over 1,000 police officers, who uncovered extensive activity including drug production labs, online store managers, and financial personnel. In total, approximately 400 suspects were identified, 146 of whom received notification of criminal suspicion, and drugs with an estimated value of about 70 million hryvnia were seized. As noted by Оперативний ЗСУ, the operation involved the use of network intelligence and blockchain technologies to expose the crypto transactions of criminal organizations.
Exposure of the 'Reserve+' scam and escape attempts
Simultaneously, law enforcement authorities arrested a network of hackers who created a fake version of the official military registration app 'Reserve+' (Резерв+). According to an announcement by Служба безпеки України, the fake app allowed users to change personal data and create fictitious draft exemptions for 1,200 hryvnia per month. Over 4,000 men used this service to avoid conscription, and the suspects now face prison sentences of up to 8 years.
Additionally, Реальний Київ reports on the arrest of a Kyiv resident who was caught at the border while hiding in a secret compartment in a minibus. According to ДПСУ | Держприкордонслужба, the man paid 14,000 dollars in cryptocurrency to a smuggling organization found through the Telegram network. The vehicle's driver was arrested and is suspected of assisting with illegal crossing.
Additional reports and criminal incidents
Цензор.НЕТ reports on a serious incident in which listening devices were found in the home of a NABU detective who is investigating corruption cases within the SBU. The organization claims this was an operation by elements within the law enforcement agencies themselves. At the same time, Труха⚡️Одесса reports on a shocking case of child abuse in the Odesa region, an event currently being investigated by the police under the "torture" clause.
