Ukraine prepares for escalation before winter: Zelensky's appeal to the public and the international community

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a series of urgent warnings on June 19, in which he emphasized that despite the "political and physical weakening" of Vladimir Putin, Russia may escalate its attacks on Ukraine using missiles and drones. Parallel to the security warnings, Zelensky set a clear strategic goal: to end the war by winter through a combination of diplomacy and increasing international pressure on Moscow. According to Times of Ukraine, the President emphasized that the future of Europe is currently being decided on the Ukrainian battlefield, and that this requires an aid package including air defense systems, at least 300 interceptor missiles, and energy and fuel assistance in case the fighting continues.

In a report by Цензор.НЕТ, it was noted that Zelensky expressed a willingness to negotiate with Putin, despite perceiving him as "crazy." The President explained that Putin fears bringing his army home without achievements, and that without concrete security guarantees, Russia will continue its aggressive policy. At the same time, the UA Stream channel highlighted that Zelensky called on European Union countries to urgently release 6 billion euros from the "European Peace Facility" to strengthen Kyiv's air defense.

On the other hand, extreme minority voices were also heard in the digital space. The Zone AP channel published content expressing total pessimism regarding Ukraine's chances of victory and sharply criticized the country's leadership, while presenting a distinct pro-Russian stance calling for an end to the fighting at any price.
