Starting June 19, 2026, Ukraine's national railway company, 'Ukrzaliznytsia' (Укрзалізниця), will operate a new direct regional train line between the cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv. As reported by numerous channels, including Лачен пише and Харьков life | Харків 🇺🇦, this initiative will significantly reduce travel time to just 4 hours, enabling a round-trip journey in a single day.
Schedules and route
According to the report by Новини.LIVE, train number 854 will depart from Dnipro at 08:17 and arrive in Kharkiv at 12:29. On the return trip, train number 853 will depart from Kharkiv at 15:30 and arrive in Dnipro at 19:41. The line will include stops at Synelnykove-2, Pavlohrad-1, Lozova, Zlatopil, and Merefa.
Expansion of national service
In addition to the new line, reports indicate efforts by the railway company to allocate resources to high-demand routes. According to UA Stream, the company is also allocating additional trains to the Carpathian and Transcarpathian regions, in line with growing demand among passengers. The channel emphasizes that "demand dictates the terms," and that these moves are intended to address the mobility needs of the population during this period.
Information accessibility
All sources reviewed, including Всевидящее ОКО: Україна and Суспільне Харків, emphasize that tickets for these trips are already available for purchase via the official Ukrainian Railways app. This move is being welcomed as a significant improvement in intercity transport infrastructure in the region.
