Ukraine's High Command announced the creation of new drone warfare units on the northern border, alongside the advancement of comprehensive reforms to the military's service and recruitment terms.

Against the backdrop of warnings about potential threats from the north, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced a strategic decision to strengthen the defense of the northern border. According to reports from Оперативний ЗСУ and 24 Канал | Новини України, the army will establish new units based on unmanned systems (drones), which will be equipped with all the means necessary to carry out defense and reconnaissance missions.

At the same time, АрміяINFORM reported that the UAV component will also be expanded within Territorial Defense brigades to improve capabilities for locating and striking the enemy.
In parallel with the operational changes, a comprehensive reform in human resources management is underway. Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov and Commander Syrskyi held a meeting with representatives of 168 brigades to discuss new service conditions, including military contracts and recruitment mechanisms, as reported by the Міністерство оборони України. The Львівський обласний ТЦК та СП clarified that the goal is to begin the phased discharge of soldiers serving long terms by the end of the year.
However, the moves are accompanied by criticism and reports of political friction. Journalist Юлія Кирієнко warned against the spread of false information on social media regarding the dismissal of officers, and called for reliance on official sources. At the same time, UA Stream reported on political tensions at the highest levels, including alleged internal disagreements between President Zelenskyy and senior officials in his administration and office, which raises questions regarding the stability of political processes within Ukraine during wartime.
