Wave of nighttime air strikes: Extensive fires across the city of Kyiv
During the night of June 14, 2026, the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, experienced a series of air strikes that caused significant damage and several fires in multiple districts. The Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed reports of fires in residential and public buildings, noting that emergency crews are operating at the scenes of the fires.
According to the Труха⚡️Київ channel, a fire broke out in a five-story building used as a warehouse in the Obolon district, and fires were also reported on the upper floors of a residential building under construction. In the same district, rescue forces are working to extinguish additional blazes in multi-story residential buildings. Київ Головне noted that the fires in Obolon are a direct result of a drone attack on the city.
Simultaneously, several fire hotspots were reported in the Podil district. The news channels Реальний Київ and Київ Оперативний reported, based on statements from the Mayor, that a fire broke out in a private house in this district as a result of "falling drone debris," alongside additional fires in three-story residential buildings. Kyiv City State Administration - Official Channel also confirmed the arrival of emergency teams at these scenes.
СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ (which presents a distinct pro-Ukrainian stance) reported in addition that calls for medical teams were also recorded in the Pecherskyi district, where preliminary assessments suggest a building used as student dormitories was hit. This is a large-scale event involving all security and rescue services in the city of Kyiv.
