On May 31, Ukraine experienced a series of widespread air attacks using drones, artillery, and aerial bombs. According to reports from Zelenskiy / Official, Russia attacked a logistics center of the "Nova Poshta" company in Dnipro, which caused a large fire in the company's warehouses and damage to trucks. The President of Ukraine stated that "all these attacks must be stopped," and emphasized the need to increase economic pressure and sanctions on Russia.
The destruction in Dnipro was also confirmed by NY i Dnipro and TSN Novyny, which noted that despite the heavy damage to the structure, there were no casualties among the company's employees. However, the situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region was more difficult: according to data from the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, four districts were attacked during the day, which led to the death of one woman and the wounding of nine people. Dnepr Operativ reported hits on residential buildings, kindergartens, and medical infrastructure in the Nikopol area.
At the same time, lethal attacks were reported in other areas. Ukrainska Pravda and Censor.NET reported that in the Chernihiv region, a 58-year-old man was killed as a result of a drone hit on a factory site, which led to the burning of seven trucks. In Sloviansk, a hit was reported on a gas station and a post office, where a 7-year-old child and his mother were wounded.
In Zaporizhzhia, reports indicate a particularly extensive scope of attacks. According to ZN.UA, about 976 attacks were carried out in 55 different settlements over the last day, events that resulted in the deaths of two people and the wounding of seven others. Ukrainian government officials emphasize that this is a systematic Russian effort to target "civilian infrastructure," while calling for continued international support and assistance with air defense.
