Ukrainian authorities are calling on citizens to complete the digitization of their labor books by June 10 to ensure their pension rights.
The Transition to Digital Pension Registration in Ukraine
Leading up to June 10, 2026, officials and news networks in Ukraine are reporting on the end of the transition period for digital documentation of labor books. According to a report by Times of Ukraine, after this date the physical document will lose its primary validity, and all data must be entered into the electronic register of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU).
In a report by Всевидящее ОКО: Україна (known for its pro-Ukrainian stance), Deputy Head of the Pension Fund, Kovpashko, was quoted emphasizing that "scans of the labor book must be uploaded to the Pension Fund portal," with an emphasis on those who worked before January 1, 2004.
Additional sources such as Батальйон «Монако» and Юрист пише… clarify that the electronic register will become the primary source of information for determining pension rights. According to UA Stream, failure to meet this deadline could "create problems with the pension," although it was noted that even after the deadline it will technically be possible to perform the digitization, but under less favorable circumstances for the insured.
The government system is aimed at streamlining bureaucracy, but the change requires active action from citizens to prevent delays in calculating periods of employment seniority.
