[75369] Progress by the Ukrainian Army on the front line and extensive attacks on targets in Russia
Ukrainian forces reported the liberation of large areas in the Oleksandrivka sector and successful strikes deep into Russia, while the defense establishment analyzes threats from Belarus.
Significant Ukrainian progress and deep-strike attacks
According to reports from Реальна Війна | Україна | Новини, DeepState, and other official sources, the Ukrainian army has launched a counter-offensive in the Oleksandrivka sector, during which at least 46 square kilometers were liberated in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. According to Україна Online, this is a "critical phase in the war" where Ukraine is taking the initiative into its own hands.
Simultaneously, units of the Unmanned Aerial Reconnaissance Strike Group (SBS) and the Ukrainian Armed Forces Command reported a series of high-quality strikes deep into Russia. Targets included the Volgograd oil refinery, the "Yaroslavl-3" oil pumping station, as well as the destruction of "Tor-M2" and "Pantsir-S1" air defense systems in Crimea and Zaporizhzhia. The Ukrainian command stated that the goal of the operations is "to disrupt the enemy's logistics and damage their military capabilities."
In the intelligence and threats sector, the advisor to the Ministry of Defense, known as "Flash", addressed concerns regarding the entry of forces from Belarus. According to him, while suspicious activity is being recorded, "a global invasion as we saw in 2022 will not repeat." He emphasized that the Ukrainian army is prepared for any scenario and that any attempt by a hostile force to enter from there will be thwarted within hours.
However, not everything is optimistic. Boryslav Bereza criticizes the administration's conduct sharply, claiming that there is "internal disintegration" and the use of political considerations instead of urgent military needs, while warning of the consequences of diverting budgets from defense to reserve funds. Other media outlets, such as the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), note that the Russian command is attempting to hide from the Kremlin the fact that their progress has almost come to a complete halt.
