Large-scale drone attack in Ukraine

During the night of May 21, 2026, Ukraine experienced a large-scale wave of aerial attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). According to the Реальний Київ | Украина channel, which reported many developments in real time, air alerts were activated throughout the capital Kyiv and its districts. Residents were instructed to remain in shelters until further notice, as reports of drone movement flowed from various areas such as the Lisovyi area, Protsiv Yar, Lypky district, and the center.

Реальний Київ | Украина provided updates on the movement of vehicles toward other areas in the capital's suburbs, including Brovary, Baryshivka, Vyshneve, and Borshchahivka. According to the channel, at one point, initial reports arrived regarding "identification of interception impacts" among the Ukrainian air defense systems operating in the area.

At the same time, Левый Берег Киев reported suspicious activity in other districts of the city, including the DVRZ area and the Troieshchyna district.

In the south of the country, Odesa Oblast was also placed under a state of air alert due to the drone threat. Новости Одесса | Одеса reported that at least one drone was identified on its way toward Chornomorsk. However, the channel later updated that an alert cancellation had been declared in the district, indicating the end of the immediate threat in this sector.

As of this hour, official sources in Ukraine have not yet released final data on the extent of damage or casualties, but reports from the ground point to a tense and prolonged night for air defense systems and residents.
