On the night between May 13 and 14, 2026, Ukraine experienced the "most large-scale air attack since the beginning of the war," as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force. According to Air Force data, Russia launched 731 various attack assets, including 56 missiles and 675 drones of various types, with the capital city of Kyiv being the primary focus of the strike.
Ukraine's air defense systems managed, according to data from the Ukrainian Air Force, to intercept or neutralize through electronic warfare 693 targets, including 41 missiles and 652 drones. However, reports indicate strikes at 24 different locations and falling debris at 18 additional sites. The KLOCHOK channel added that as of the morning, there are dozens of casualties, including a one-month-old baby, and reports of significant destruction to residential buildings in the Darnytskyi district.
The attack was described as part of an ongoing wave of strikes, with the monitor channel noting that it was a "combined attack of missiles and drones," using "Kinzhal" missiles, "Iskander-M" missiles, and X-101 cruise missiles. According to Zelenskyy, it is an "absolute anti-record" with over 1,560 drones launched since the beginning of the previous day.
Ukrainian media outlets, including TSN Novyny and Ukrainska Pravda, emphasize that the air raid warning continues at this very moment, and that new groups of drones are entering the airspace. The Ukrainian government and military are calling on citizens to follow instructions and remain in shelters.
