Dozens of drones attacked the Kyiv region and additional areas in Ukraine tonight, in a large-scale aerial assault that included over 70 flying vehicles.
Unprecedented Drone Attack on Kyiv Region
During the night of May 14, 2026, Ukraine, and specifically the capital region of Kyiv, experienced an intense wave of "Shahed" drone attacks. According to data from the Telegram channel Київ Головне, which reports continuously on the front-line situation, "a total of about 70 drones were identified over Ukrainian territory" moving in several locations.
The monitoring channel Київський купол | Графіки, which specializes in real-time documentation of attack routes and statistical data on defense systems, published a series of cumulative reports on the arrival of dozens of drones in various areas of the Kyiv region. According to the reports, the vehicles were dispersed between major cities such as Brovary, Boryspil, Vasylkiv, and Obukhiv, with each wave counting between 7 and 38 drones that penetrated the airspace.
The Telegram channel 🔊⚠️єРадар | Повітряна тривога | Ракетна небезпека, which provides targeted alerts on aerial dangers, noted that the attacks were not limited to the Kyiv region alone, but included "swarms of drones that arrived from the Mykolaiv region towards the Kirovohrad region," as well as activity in the Poltava, Zhytomyr, and Cherkasy regions. The mapping published by єРадар emphasized that the drones were aimed at several tactical and strategic focal points simultaneously.
The attack underscores Russia's continued intensive use of "drone swarm" tactics to exhaust Ukrainian air defense systems. All reports, both from Київський купол and other update channels, point to a sustained attack that spanned the night hours and included dozens of different coordinates throughout the region.
