The purpose of the mission is to train Ukrainian forces in the advanced use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones).
According to a report by Новини.LIVE, the information was confirmed by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth during a Senate committee hearing. During the discussion, Senator Mitch McConnell complained that Ukraine had become the "Silicon Valley of war" and asked whether the Pentagon intended to learn from the experience accumulated there.
Hegseth clarified that he had personally approved the deployment of the teams, stating that the goal is "for us to derive all possible lessons from this conflict and work to implement them in real-time within our defense and offense."
