During May 12, 2026, Ukrainian monitoring channels reported a large-scale wave of attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) that penetrated multiple districts across the country. According to War Monitor, multiple drone movements were identified over the Kyiv region, including areas such as Ukrainka, Moshchun, and Lityzh, as well as aerial movements near Zghurivka and Pereiaslav.

The ЄРадар channel, which specializes in air raid alerts, provided extensive detail on the drones' flight paths. In the Kyiv region alone, movements were reported over areas such as Podil, Troieshchyna, Pushcha-Vodytsia, as well as strategic bases such as Vasylkiv, Boryspil, and Horenka. ЄРадар further reported on seven drones making their way toward Starokon (Starokostiantyniv) and Shepetivka in the Khmelnytskyi region, as well as additional movements over the Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The reports reflect a decentralized and sustained attack effort, with the drones moving along complex paths in order to deceive air defense systems. The pro-Ukrainian channel ЗСУ ДВІЖ, which takes a clear line of support for Kyiv's war effort, confirmed the details regarding the Kyiv region and noted that some of the vehicles were observed passing through populated areas and near water reservoirs, which indicates flight paths designed to complicate interception.

As of the morning hours, the exact extent of the damage is unclear, but the intensity of the reports and the wide geographic deployment indicate one of the most significant drone attacks in recent times in Ukrainian airspace.
