Continued Russian attacks in central Kherson

During the night of May 12, 2026, Russian military forces carried out another artillery shelling aimed at the center of the city of Kherson. According to a report by СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ, a 68-year-old woman was wounded as a result of the attack, suffering from a "blast injury and concussion" and receiving ambulatory medical treatment.

At the same time, updates were received regarding additional casualties from previous hostilities. Суспільне Херсон, a local channel presenting a stance that supports Ukraine and is critical of Russia, reported that a 57-year-old man was evacuated to the hospital after being hit on May 7 by a Russian UAV attack in the city center. The wounded man was diagnosed with a "blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his body, hands, and legs."

The events in Kherson illustrate the tense security situation in the area, as the central city continues to absorb targeted fire from Russian forces, resulting in casualties among the civilian population.
