The 70th Eurovision Song Contest opened in Vienna with a festive ceremony, as Ukraine prepares for the performance of singer LELÉKA in the upcoming semi-final.

The official evening of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest kicked off in Vienna on May 10. According to reports from ТСН новини / ТСН.ua, the central and festive event marks the opening of the international music celebrations, with the first semi-final scheduled for May 12.
The Ukrainian representative, singer LELÉKA, attracted special attention during the Eurovision opening ceremony. As reported by the channel UA Stream, she walked the turquoise carpet dressed in a Ukrainian brand and accompanied by the music of ONUKA. Новини.LIVE notes that the singer expressed deep excitement about the occasion, stating: "I am grateful for being given the opportunity to represent our country, and I will do everything to show the beauty of our culture as a symbol that we have the right to be, to exist, and to inspire others."
The event in Vienna took place under a heavy security envelope. According to a report by DW Україна – a channel that presents a position supporting the Ukrainian government and critical of Russia – participants walked on a 170-meter-long carpet stretching between the Burgtheater and the City Hall. DW Україна noted that despite the security tensions, the ceremony went very successfully.
LELÉKA is expected to perform on the contest stage in the second semi-final to be held on May 14, where she will try to qualify for the Grand Final and express her culture on the European stage.
