The Oleksandr Dubinsky Case: Suspicion of Treason from a Detention Cell

Authorities in Ukraine, led by the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) and the Prosecutor General's Office, have filed an additional suspicion of treason against MP Oleksandr Dubinsky. According to reports from Лачен пише and Новинач, Dubinsky, who is already on trial for treason, continued to conduct intensive anti-Ukrainian propaganda activities while in custody (SIZO).

According to Оперативний ЗСУ, the investigation found that Dubinsky used his meetings with his lawyers to distribute content intended to "undermine trust in state institutions, discredit Ukraine's political line, and disrupt mobilization processes." It was reported that the lawyers provided him with laptops without internet access, on which he prepared materials that were subsequently passed on for publication by his partner abroad, as noted in Шрайк Ньюс and SPRAVDI.

The evidence is based on an analysis of more than 50 social media posts (Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram). According to Цензор.НЕТ, linguistic and psychological experts confirmed that the found content "harms the state and information security of Ukraine." If convicted, Dubinsky faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment, along with the confiscation of property.

On the other hand, СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ reports that Dubinsky denied the allegations and claimed it was a fabricated case, while extensive searches were conducted at his office and the offices of his lawyers. The organization ЧЕСНО recalled in this context that Dubinsky is already linked to other cases of assisting Russian intelligence services, under the code name "Buratino," and is also involved in cases concerning the smuggling of people across the border.
