[51053] Security tensions in Kyiv and reports of unusual activity in Belarus
Reports of unusual security alerts from Kyiv alongside heavy traffic congestion following traffic accidents, while the Ukrainian Border Guard identifies suspicious military activity in Belarus.
Security alerts and increasing military activity at the Belarus border
According to aggregated reports from Ukrainian Telegram channels, including Труха⚡️Україна (which takes a distinctly pro-Ukrainian line) and Львівич | Новини, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (DPSU) is warning of "unusual activity in Belarus." According to the sources, an accelerated development of logistics, training grounds, and infrastructure is being identified in the country, which could potentially be used by Russian forces.
At the same time, it was reported by Київ | Times and Україна UA: Новини | Політика that the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a warning to Kyiv residents and foreign diplomats to leave the capital, claiming to prevent "attempts to disrupt the May 9th parade." These claims come from sources identified with the Russian side and are presented in the Ukrainian media as part of psychological warfare.
Traffic disruptions in the capital
Alongside the security tension, significant disruptions were recorded on major arteries around Kyiv. Київ | Times reported that the Kyiv-Chernihiv road was completely blocked to traffic following the overturning of a heavy truck, which forced drivers to seek alternative routes through Skybyn. Other reports, such as Реальний Київ, noted that the congestion in the area is significantly affecting traffic flow in the capital region.
