[50486] Extensive air attack: Russia deploys glide bombs across a series of Ukrainian regions
Escalation in air strikes: Glide bombs launched at several Ukrainian regions
On May 5, 2026, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a widespread wave of strikes using glide bombs (KAB), directed at several strategic regions in the country. Ukrainian security officials provided live updates on ongoing threats in the airspace.
According to official statements from the Ukrainian Air Force, glide bombs were detected on their way to the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Simultaneously, the local Telegram channel Реальный Днепр ⚡️Кривой Рог | Дніпро Світло reported specifically on bombs directed at the city of Sloviansk in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In subsequent updates, the Ukrainian Air Force noted that similar threats were directed toward the Zaporizhzhia region, and an additional report from the same source warned of glide bombs heading toward the northern Kharkiv region.
The use of glide bombs (KAB) has become a central tool in Russia's air warfare, as they are high-destructive munitions that allow aircraft to launch them from outside the range of short-range air defense. The reports arrived in a short period of time, which indicates a coordinated widespread attack across many sectors in eastern and southern Ukraine.
