On Sunday, May 3, 2026, Ukrainian officials reported a Russian attack in the Krynychanskyi community of the Dnipropetrovsk region, which hit a gas station (petrol station) area and the vicinity of a bus that was transporting about 40 children on their way to a vacation in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to reports from Times of Ukraine and the Regional Military Administration (OVA), the children managed to get off the bus moments before the impact, which prevented a much greater catastrophe. Nevertheless, as a result of the attack, which was reported by TSN News as having caused a truck to catch fire and damage to the bus, six people were injured. Among the injured are a 10-year-old child in moderate condition and a 21-year-old pregnant woman. Officials noted that a 40-year-old woman is hospitalized in serious condition.

Ukrainian media emphasizes that the children were evacuated to a safe place in the Zatishianskyi community, where they were provided with assistance, food, and psychological care. The bus driver, known as Serhiy, described the moments of horror in an interview with 'Suspilne': "I was thrown three meters into the air."
