The authorities in Ukraine are considering canceling some draft exemptions for workers in essential facilities in order to reinforce military forces at the front.

Against the backdrop of the ongoing manpower shortage in the army ranks, the authorities in Ukraine are considering updating the policy regarding draft exemptions (bron) for workers in essential sectors. Ukrainian Member of Parliament Serhiy Nagornyak stated that the country is examining a partial cancellation of these exemptions to allow for the conscription of skilled workers into military service.
According to a report by Всевидящее ОКО: Україна, whose positions clearly support the Ukrainian war effort, Nagornyak emphasized that many factories currently employ people without medical limitations or impediments to service, and they are now perceived as a necessary reserve to fill the army's ranks.
In an additional report by Новини.LIVE, which is identified with general current affairs coverage, Nagornyak was quoted explaining that the state has so far attempted to preserve professional manpower in critical industries, such as the energy sector. However, according to him, "In factories, there are people working without limitations, qualified experts - and accordingly, they are the ones being considered as a resource to fill the army."
