Unusual incident in Kyiv: A soldier who deserted entered a supermarket armed with a toy weapon

A disturbing incident took place today in Kyiv, when a man in an intoxicated state caused panic among customers in a local supermarket after walking around the premises with what appeared to be a rifle. According to reports, the police arrested the suspect and discovered that it was a toy weapon.

According to a report by Times of Ukraine and Труха⚡️Київ, the suspect is a soldier who is in a state of desertion from the army (SZCh - unauthorized departure from a unit). Труха⚡️Київ note that the man "walked between the shelves and scared people with a rifle," which led to the rapid intervention of police forces.

Additional channels, including Мій Київ | Світло and Київ | Times, added that the incident occurred on Kopernyk Street in the city. Київ | Times noted that "fortunately, the rifle turned out to be a toy."
