[44640] Large-scale technical failure in Monobank banking services in Ukraine
Customers of the leading digital bank in Ukraine reported difficulties in accessing the application and performing money transfers, while the bank's management confirmed the failure and worked to fix it.
On April 29, 2026, many users across Ukraine reported a large-scale technical failure in the Monobank digital banking systems. The reports indicated an inability to log in to the mobile application and system failures in performing bank transfers, a phenomenon that received extensive coverage in local news channels such as Реальний Київ and Реальна Війна.
According to reports from СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ, Oleh Horokhovskyi, a co-founder of the bank, confirmed the incident and announced that technical teams were working to restore service to normal. The Ху Київ + channel noted that the difficulties manifested differently between iOS users, who could not enter the application at all, and Android users, who experienced significant delays or partial system functionality.
After several hours of disruptions, it was reported on major update channels, including Київ Головне and Оперативний ЗСУ, that service returned to normal operation around 10:57. It should be noted that most of the source channels that covered the event, such as Труха⚡️Україна and ТСН новини, adopted a transparent editorial line that reported the malfunction without political speculation, while emphasizing direct referral to bank management for updates.
