A tender by the Samsun Municipality for pest control, with a financial scope of 119.9 million lira, has sparked intense public criticism on social media. According to the Gündem Haber channel, the subject has become the talk of the day under the heading "Has Samsun been overrun by pests?", with many questioning the necessity of such high expenditure.

On the Gündem Analiz channel, it was reported that social media users reached out to the Mayor, Halit Doğan, demanding explanations regarding the cost of the tender, while presenting data from the Public Procurement Authority. In response, the Samsun Municipality issued an official clarification regarding the scope of the planned activities.

According to the data presented by Gündem Analiz, the project includes comprehensive pest control in 11 districts and 850 neighborhoods, alongside support with equipment and supplies in 6 additional districts and 400 more neighborhoods. Operationally, the tender is expected to employ 168 workers for varying periods (between 4 and 8 months) and utilize equipment including 41 vehicles and 33 specialized pest control machines.
