From a giant fall to a crisis trajectory: Kontrolmatik under supervision

Borsa Istanbul has announced the transfer of the technology company Kontrolmatik from the "Star Market" (Yıldız Pazar) to the "Watch Market" (Yakın İzleme Pazarı), effective June 18. This step comes following a series of operational and financial failures that undermined the status of the company, which was previously one of the most prominent growth promises on the Turkish stock exchange.

According to the report on the Borsa Hisse Haber channel, which focuses on analyzing capital market trends and data, the company previously recorded an impressive 275-fold jump in its value within three years, but has lost about 93% of its dollar value since its peak. The channel notes that "the rise in interest and financing costs negatively impacted the balance sheets," while the company's management was accused of large-scale stock sales and executing controversial financial moves that failed to stabilize the company.

On the Borsa Haber Hisse channel, which tracks IPOs and stock exchange updates, it is emphasized that "matters for Kontrolmatik have reached a point that can no longer be explained solely by the stock price." According to the report, the company was required to file an application for debt restructuring, failed to pay bonds on time, and was hit with a ban on opening new futures contracts.

The company, which currently counts over 315,000 investors, now faces a challenging period in which investors are required to shift their focus away from PR announcements about new contracts and toward close monitoring of financial reports and cash flow. The change in its status on the stock exchange marks the beginning of an increased transparency process, which testifies to the severity of the situation in which the company has found itself.
