Political visit to Moscow: Hakan Fidan met with Shoigu

Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, arrived for an official visit to Moscow as part of a series of political meetings. During his visit, Fidan met with the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, as reported in Sputnik Türkiye.

During the talks, Shoigu emphasized the long-standing relationship between the countries. According to Sputnik Türkiye, Shoigu stated that "Russia and Turkey have always found mutually acceptable solutions to the most diverse problems." Shoigu claimed that had it not been for the "interference of Western countries," the conflict in Ukraine could have been ended in its early stages based on the agreements signed in Istanbul.

In addition, Shoigu addressed the Black Sea Grain Initiative, claiming that the UN was "the only party that did not fulfill its obligations." It should be noted that Sputnik is a Russian state-owned news agency, known as an arm for spreading the Kremlin's official narrative on foreign and security issues.

As part of his visit to Russia, Minister Fidan also met with representatives of the Turkish business community operating in the country, according to a report by Gündem Haber. This meeting highlights the economic importance of the ties between Turkey and Russia, despite the regional geopolitical tensions.
