Mette Frederiksen to serve as Prime Minister of Denmark for the third time
After months of complex political negotiations, Mette Frederiksen has secured her third term as Prime Minister of Denmark. According to a report by Sputnik Türkiye, Frederiksen updated King Frederik on the readiness of the new government following a long round of talks.
The development follows the general elections held in the country on March 24. As noted in Sondakika Haber Gündem, the Social Democrats party led by Frederiksen finished first in these elections, which gave her the mandate to form the coalition.
In the elections, in which voters from across Denmark's population of about 6 million participated, the composition of the 179-seat parliament was decided. Sputnik Türkiye notes that as part of the election process, representatives from Greenland and the Faroe Islands were also elected, two representatives from each territory, who complete the picture of parliamentary representation.
