As part of the Turkish Ministry of Education's efforts to increase security in the country's educational institutions, Minister Çiftçi announced the launch of a new initiative titled 'The 7-Step Safety Shield.' The program is intended to improve the security envelope surrounding students and educational staff.
According to a report by İhlas Haber Ajansı (a Turkish state news agency), the Minister emphasized that this represents a conceptual shift in the management of school security. The İHA agency notes that the new system, known as "7 Basamaklı Okul Güvenliği Kalkanı" (7-step School Safety Shield), will be implemented across the country as part of a comprehensive strategy to eradicate risks.
At the same time, TGRT HABER (a Turkish news network with a conservative-nationalist line) added that the move is considered a significant milestone in improving institutional infrastructure. According to the report by TGRT HABER, Minister Çiftçi explained that the system will provide a multi-layered response to various security needs, indicating an intention to tighten oversight and protection both inside and outside school walls.
The program is expected to move to immediate implementation phases, with the Ministry expected to distribute detailed technical guidelines to all school administrations across Turkey in the near future.
