Wave of Enforcement Actions Against Corruption and Crime in Turkey

Over the past 24 hours, Turkey has experienced a series of significant enforcement operations across the country. According to reports from Sputnik Türkiye, 128 suspects were arrested as part of a wide-ranging investigation in 21 provinces, suspected of offenses including illegal gambling, money laundering, and bribery. Among the suspects in the case is media personality Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı. According to reports from Haber X, authorities have seized dozens of assets, vehicles, and vessels, and have appointed trustees to financial institutions, jewelry stores, and currency exchange offices involved in the case.

At the municipal level, law enforcement authorities conducted significant raids in major cities. GündemX and TGRT HABER report that 12 people were arrested in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) on suspicion of bid-rigging. Simultaneously, in the Üsküdar Municipality, a second wave of arrests took place involving 7 suspects on suspicion of taking bribes in exchange for building permits, with senior officials allegedly involved in the case according to TGRT HABER reports.

In another local political sector, İLKHA and Haber Gündem report on a raid at the Tepebaşı Municipality, which is managed by the CHP. During the raid, authorities discovered a hidden room in the home of the mayor's chief of staff that was being used as a cryptocurrency mining farm, and 23 out of 60 suspects were arrested in the case.

In the criminal sphere, Haber Gündem reports on two severe cases of murder and violence: the death of teenager Abdulbaki Demiral in Beylikdüzü following a fight, and a shocking abuse case involving a 13-year-old girl, in which it is suspected that the child's mother knew about the acts and showed indifference in exchange for financial payment.
