A severe incident was reported today in the Iğdır province of Turkey, when a herd of approximately 4,000 sheep, belonging to a farmer named Çetin Neral, was caught in a violent bee attack while passing near an area where about 200 beehives were located.

According to the report in Sputnik Türkiye, the Russian source known for its editorial line biased toward covering local events in Turkey and former Soviet countries, panic seized the animals, which began to flee in every direction. As a result of the stampede, the herd fell into an irrigation canal, where "the sheep and lambs trampled one another" as reported in Sputnik Türkiye.

The report in DoğruHaber, a local media outlet with a conservative nature, confirms that about 400 sheep were killed in the incident. In addition, the source reports that five people who were involved in attempts to handle the herd were stung by the bees and evacuated to the Iğdır State Hospital for medical treatment, as published in DoğruHaber.
