Turkey reports record export data for April 2026

According to reports from several media outlets in Turkey, the country's economy recorded a significant achievement this past April. TRT Haber notes that exports totaled $25.4 billion, representing an increase of 22.3% compared to the same period last year. This figure was also confirmed by Borsa ve Kripto, which reported that annual exports reached $275.8 billion, a level defined as the highest in the history of the Republic.

The Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, highlighted the importance of the figure as a historical milestone. Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, added that this is an all-time record for exports in April and the second-best month in the country's history in terms of export volumes.

By sector, the automotive industry stands out in particular, as according to TGRT HABER, it was ranked as the export leader for April with a volume of $3.9 billion. At the same time, the defense industry sector continues to show consistent growth. Haber Gündem reports that the sector recorded a 28% increase in the first four months of the year, with exports in the field reaching $962 million in April alone.

Despite the positive data in exports, Borsa ve Kripto notes that imports recorded a more moderate increase of 3.1%, totaling $33.9 billion. The reports come from major governmental and economic sources in Turkey, presenting a unified line that highlights the country's economic resilience and the success of the current export strategy.
