[91566] Significant escalation on the fronts: Wave of attacks in Moscow and Russian raids in Donetsk
Moscow under drone attack and reports of Russian progress in Donetsk
Over the past day, the Russian capital has experienced a widespread wave of airstrikes. According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, air defense forces intercepted dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles on their way to the city. While Russian channels such as Readovka and Операция Z: Военкоры Русской Весны report the interception of 76 drones without casualties or destruction, independent and opposition channels such as Телеканал Дождь note that this is one of the largest attacks since the start of the war, undermining the sense of security.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of the village of Yurkovka in Donetsk. Channels identified with the Kremlin, including РИА Новости and ТАСС, emphasized that control over Yurkovka brings Russian forces to a distance of only about 10 kilometers from the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, which may constitute a strategic turning point in the region.
The state of tension also intensified in Zaporizhzhia, where Операция Z: Военкоры Русской Весны reported 14 drone strikes that hit transportation and maintenance facilities of the nuclear power plant (ZNPP). Conversely, Ukrainian channels and international reports brought by BT News address the fighting from an opposite perspective, reporting damage to Russian energy infrastructure and criticism of the Kremlin's management of the campaign.
On the Middle East front, a sharp escalation continues on the Israel-Lebanon border. IDF forces reported an attack on over 150 targets of the Hezbollah organization, following the organization's fire. Channels with a pro-Iranian orientation such as Shia News claim heavy losses among IDF soldiers, claims that are not supported by official Israeli sources, which focus on neutralizing Hezbollah's infrastructure as published in Mignews.
