Large-Scale Night Attacks in Ukraine: Odesa and Kharkiv Under Fire

During the night between May 31 and June 1, 2026, Ukraine experienced a broad wave of air strikes by Russian forces. According to reports in DW Главное, which is known for its critical stance toward Russia, the cities of Odesa, Kharkiv, and Sumy were attacked. In Kharkiv, a residential neighborhood was hit and injuries were reported, while in Sumy, educational infrastructure and private homes were damaged as a result of "Geran-2" drone strikes.

In Odesa, the Military Administration reports five people injured as a result of the attack. According to the Telegram channel "Dumskaya", two of the injured were hospitalized, and two others received treatment on the spot. Heavy damage was caused to residential buildings, administrative institutions, and infrastructure, with reports indicating dozens of shattered windows and houses hit in various locations across the city, including the "Yadova" and "Peresyp" areas, as published in Хуевая Одесса.

At the same time, a report on the pro-Russian channel Украина.ру claimed that Russian forces attacked a "target in occupied Zaporizhzhia." Conversely, the Telegram channel "Lohmatiy Z", which is associated with a stance supporting Russian actions, presented a different narrative of the events, including criticism of the local administration in Odesa regarding the management of public funds and mobilization incidents, while confirming that "explosions were heard" in the area of posyolok Kotovskogo.

Volunteer organizations and local authorities, as noted in CIT, added updates on previous attacks in recent days in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Kherson regions, indicating a continued escalation in damage to civilian infrastructure along the friction lines.
