International rankings place Russian women at the top of the beauty world

A number of recently published international rankings indicate that women from Russia are ranked in the world top in terms of external beauty. According to Новости Москвы and MDK PREMIUM, the World Population Review agency ranked Russian women fourth in the world, after Colombia, Poland, and Greece. These sources, which present a clear pro-Russian line, note that the ranking editors emphasized that Russian women "know how to radiate warmth, capable of overcoming even the harsh climate."

Explanations for the phenomenon also came from academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Gennady Onishchenko. In a quote brought by 🔴 Узел связи (known for a critical line toward Putin but pro-Russian in its national identity) and Русская экономика, Onishchenko argued that "the beauty of Russian women is related to the country's genetic diversity." According to him, the absence of intermarriage and adherence to a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition are the key factors in their attractiveness.

However, the picture emerging from the reports is not uniform. Русская экономика reports that while in a surfer poll on Reddit Russia reached fourth place, in the Insider Monkey ranking Russian women were ranked only 17th, with women from South Korea, Brazil, and the United States at the top of the list.

Despite the discrepancies between the data, among elements identified with the Russian establishment, criticism of the rankings was heard. Onishchenko even went as far as to note that for him, "our women are the most beautiful, not fourth place but the first place."
