Tonight (April 30, 2026), the city of Odesa suffered a massive aerial attack by Russian forces. According to reports by the police and official sources as quoted in Odesa as it is, the number of casualties has risen to 20 people, including a 17-year-old boy. Two of the wounded are hospitalized in critical condition in intensive care units.

The most extensive damage was recorded in the Primorsky district, where fires broke out in residential buildings, a hotel, a shopping center, and educational institutions, including a kindergarten. In a report by Politika Strany, a channel that sometimes presents more balanced coverage of the conflict, it was noted that in addition to the damage to residential buildings, dozens of buses and private vehicles were destroyed or damaged in local parking lots. The TV channel Dozhd, identified with an anti-war stance, added that the attack also included damage to logistics warehouses and administrative complexes.

The website Dumskaya highlighted the severe damage to a well-known student dormitory building in the city, and documented the heavy destruction caused to a hotel in the city center. The owner of the hotel noted in an interview with Odesa as it is that this is not the first time the building has been hit, and pledged to restore it despite the difficulties.

Conversely, pro-Russian Telegram channels identified with support for the war, such as RusPanorama and SVO.Ukraina.Realii, described the attack as a successful operation against military or infrastructure targets, using terms justifying the strikes and reporting damage to facilities of the "Nova Poshta" company (Ukrainian postal service). These claims contradict Ukrainian and international reports that emphasize the civilian nature of the buildings that were hit.
