Storm following documentation of police violence in Bnei Brak
This morning, a significant escalation was recorded during a protest in the Bnei Brak area, when Amit Segal (considered a journalist close to the political and right-wing establishment) published disturbing footage in which a police officer is seen kicking a protester in the head during a blockade that the police claimed was illegal.
Following the incident, Shas chairman Aryeh Deri spoke out sharply against Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir. Deri called on the minister in a post also published on the 🎗️Israel News IL🎗️ channel: "Ben-Gvir, wake up! Stop the police violence against the sons of the Torah."
The event is causing ripples in the political system and sharpening tensions surrounding police conduct during protests by the Haredi public. So far, no official response has been issued by Minister Ben-Gvir regarding the specific incident or Deri's call.
