[82326] Iran responds to the strike in Dahiyeh: 'The Zionist regime must be restrained to reach an agreement'
Regional tension: Iran threatens following the strike in Dahiyeh
Following reports of the Israeli strike in Dahiyeh, Beirut, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, issued a harsh threat against Israel. Rezaei stated that "one must not make a mistake in assessing the situation" and argued that the path to any agreement or international understanding necessarily goes through "restraining the Zionist regime."
According to the report in Abu Ali Express, which is identified with critical positions toward Iran and Hamas and supportive of Israel, Rezaei used a blunt metaphor when he claimed that if "this mad dog is not restrained," it will bite Iran again before the ink on future agreements even dries. Similar remarks were published in other channels, including News from the Field, Epoch, and News Channel 8200, which emphasize the severity of the Iranian threat.
Conversely, channels that present a hostile line toward Israel such as 301 News Arab World and GLOBAL ANALYST echoed Rezaei's words while using the terminology of "punishing the Zionist entity." In the channel Israel Hayom, it was noted that this is a direct threat coming from an official in Iran who was the first to threaten to launch missiles last week.
The uniform messages emanating from Tehran through numerous Telegram channels highlight the connection between Israel's operational activity in Lebanon and the regional political negotiations. While channels identified with security in Israel present the matter as an Iranian attempt to deter Israel from continuing the strikes, opposition channels in Iran and Israeli commentators see this as evidence of the pressure the Islamic Republic is under following Israeli intelligence and operational successes.
