Tensions with Iran: American efforts to prevent escalation
Against the backdrop of security tensions following the strike in Beirut, several news channels are reporting on an intense American diplomatic effort with Iran. According to Nitzan Shapira on Telegram and reports on 12 Pinat 99, the United States conveyed a proposal to the Iranians that includes "economic benefits in exchange for non-response" to the Israeli strike.
At the same time, Kol HaHadashot on Telegram notes that the US is exerting "heavy pressure" to prevent Iran from responding to the strike in Beirut. Israel Hayom also confirmed that American pressures are being applied on Tehran with the goal of preventing fire toward Israel.
Conversely, sources in Iran are rejecting these reports. According to 12 Pinat 99 and the "No Censorship" channel, the Iranians claim that "We rejected the proposal, we will not betray our allies", and even threaten that "the response - very soon." The GLOBAL ANALYST channel, which presents a critical line toward the American administration and Israeli policy, also emphasized the Iranian refusal of the proposal.
In the meantime, Refael Hayun - Field Security reported that associates of the Revolutionary Guards confirm that Iran is planning to respond to the strike, claiming that it violates previous agreements. The same channel also raised an opinion highlighting the fear of disrupting a broader political process, while calling for the cessation of hostilities by all sides to allow for a "long and beautiful peace."
